Fall Gales Photography Workshop

WITH ANDREW MCLACHLAN

OCTOBER 16 – 20, 2024

The premise of this workshop is to assemble a group of like-minded photographic enthusiasts creating an atmosphere which will elevate and inspire you to capture the stunning beauty of Lake Superior and its surrounding wilderness to the best of your ability. The timing of the workshop coincides with the tragedy that inspired the glorious ballad “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” by famed Canadian folk musician Gordon Lightfoot.

In previous years during this workshop, participants enjoyed capturing the fiery or, at times,  tranquil Lake Superior; the nearby Wawa Badlands; night sky photography; waterfalls as well as the beauty of Lake Superior Provincial Park.
Composition, colour, texture and movement are covered in the field. Andrew also offers technical advice. You will constantly be provided with positive constructive feedback in the field and during evening image review.

The workshop is based at the picturesque Rock Island Lodge in a natural setting at the mouth of the historic Michipicoten River. The gathering space at the lodge is a perfect place to relax, socialize and post-process your new work.
All meals and accommodations are included in the workshop cost with overflow sleeping arrangements at a nearby motel.
