What better way to celebrate Canada\u2019s 150th anniversary than to paddle the voyageur highway?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-4589 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rockislandlodge.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/paddle-downriver-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"403\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rockislandlodge.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/paddle-downriver-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rockislandlodge.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/paddle-downriver.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 403px) 100vw, 403px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Naturally Superior Adventures\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naturallysuperior.com\/lake-superior-voyageur-canoe-brigades\/\">Lake Superior Voyageur Canoe Brigade<\/a> consists of six guided, all-inclusive wilderness adventures by 36-foot replicas of the North West Company\u2019s \u201c<em>canots de ma\u00eetre<\/em>.\u201d These canoes are seaworthy and easy to paddle for all levels of outdoor enthusiasts. Each leg of the journey will consist of up to 12 participants (\u201c<em>milieu<\/em>\u201d in voyageur speak) and experienced guides. Starting July 2nd in Lake Superior Provincial Park, each brigade will travel 5- to 10-day legs, finishing August 19 at Old Fort William Historical Park, near Thunder Bay.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5454 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rockislandlodge.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Voyageur_canoe-300x151.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"422\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rockislandlodge.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Voyageur_canoe-300x151.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rockislandlodge.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Voyageur_canoe.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 422px) 100vw, 422px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is your chance to commemorate Canada\u2019s rich canoeing history on <a href=\"https:\/\/thegreattrail.ca\">The Great Trail<\/a>. You\u2019ll experience the same rugged shoreline that mesmerized the French Canadian voyageurs two centuries ago.
