Lake Superior Photography – Gales Reunion
with Rob stimpson
Professional photographer Rob Stimpson was instrumental in developing our Gales of November annual photo workshop which was inspired by Ontario’s Arts in the Wild initiatives. We began with 4 participants in 2003. The amazing images captured soon attracted full participation in the workshops led by Rob. Then he was called to photograph African lions and that started a successful international career. In his absence, we have continued with the workshop being hosted by great teachers and photographers, including Glen Springer, Ben Eby and currently Andrew McLachlan. Andrew’s Gales workshop is scheduled for the end of October. This year, after a 6-year hiatus Rob will be leading a photo workshop in September from our base at Rock Island Lodge on the shores of Lake Superior. The workshop is open to all but might have a sentimental feel for those who participated in the Gales of November workshops in the early years.
